The Wagon

Choosing the right vehicle can mean the difference between success and failure on such a long expedition; and with a debilitating condition such as Parkinson’s disease that choice becomes even more critical. For Guy, reliability capability simplicity and cost were his key determining factors.

Given these considerations and anticipated driving conditions along his chosen route, Guy opted for a VW camper van where he and his possessions could stay within the vehicle. This way he avoided the need to set up an external camp each day, with the convenience and safety of being able to make a meal, change clothing, have a rudimentary wash and go to bed without having to get out of his vehicle, should a situation occur where he felt the area might be unsafe, or bad weather threatened.
